From the airport or car hire depot follow the signs for the Via Rápida to Funchal and Cancela/Garajau
“Follow Via Rápida until the exit Number 15 for Cancela/Garajau on your right hand side. At top of the junction turn left down into Garajau, continue along this road, passing the main resort, you will pass a few shops and restaurants on your left hand side and the Hotel Dom Pedro Garajau on your right (this is a peach coloured low level hotel which stretches along this main road).
When you get to the end of this long straight road you will see a sign for the Cristo Rei you need to follow this. This road is called Rua do Cristo Rei, go all the way to the bottom of this road, but instead of going down to the actual statue follow the road round to the left and the Vila Bela Horizonte is overlooking the statue on the right hand side.”
